Description
Siding, log homes, timber frames and mass timber. SLT soaks into the wood rather than sitting on top of it, so it will not peel or flake. As it ages it wears back rather than failing, which means maintenance is a wash and a recoat, not a strip and sand.
Where it goes
Exterior siding, log walls, log structures, timber framing, soffits, fascia and sidewall shingles. For a deck, railing or anything fully exposed and underfoot, use Protektor DR.
The system
Two tinted coats, then a Clear Top Coat. The clear takes the surface wear, and it keeps the maintenance coat simple because you are putting clear back on rather than matching a tinted coat.
Coverage
250 to 400 sq ft per gallon on smooth sanded wood, 150 to 300 on rough. Coverage depends on wood species, texture and porosity.
Colour
All 51 BRODA colours, the same range across Protektor SLT, Protektor DR and Clarity, so the colour is a design decision and the product is an exposure decision. Nothing is pre-tinted. Every pail is mixed for your order.
On the label
VOC 58 g/L. Touch dry 2 hours, recoat 12 hours at 20 °C. Shelf life 2 years at 10 to 30 °C. Do not freeze.

The colour dropdown cannot take a percentage or a modified formula. Choose Custom Color in the Colour list, then put the full colour name, code and any adjustment in the Colour Formula / Specification box on this page, for example 200 Pickled White @ 50%. Orders with a modified formula entered as a standard colour may be delayed while we confirm the details.
