Try it on your own wood first.
A screen cannot tell you what a colour does to your cedar, and neither can a printed chip. Pick as many as you like, brush them on an offcut or an out-of-sight board, and look at them in daylight and again at dusk.

Getting a true read
Use your own woodAn offcut from the same boards as the job. Species can change the result more than you might expect.
Test the full systemFollow the product specification and apply the same number of coats you plan to use on the job.
Sand it the same way60 to 80 grit for Protektor SLT and DR, 80 to 120 grit for Clarity. Finer sanding generally reduces colour penetration, which can affect the resulting colour.
Look twiceOnce in daylight and once at dusk. South-facing walls generally weather faster than shaded elevations.
