What Is Pre-Finished Wood, and Why Does It Matter?
Pre-finished wood is exactly what it sounds like: wood that has been milled, surfaced, and finished at the factory before it ever reaches your project. Rather than applying stain or coating on site, working around weather windows, managing drips and runs, and waiting for dry times between coats, the finish is applied under controlled conditions, then the product ships ready to install.

The Broda Coating Behind Every Pre-Finished Board
Crisp Wood Co. pre-finishes their wood using Broda coatings, the same products available through CBR Products. Depending on the species and application, products include Broda SLT, and DR for exterior applications, and Broda Clarity for interior and exterior architectural wood.
Every board arrives with a two-coat system: one coat applied to the front face, back, and both edges, and a second coat on the finished face. As a result, the wood is protected on all sides from the moment it’s installed, something that’s easy to miss when finishing on site.
